    Quantum scaling laws in the onset of dynamical delocalization

    We study the destruction of dynamical localization, experimentally observed in an atomic realization of the kicked rotor, by a deterministic Hamiltonian perturbation, with a temporal periodicity incommensurate with the principal driving. We show that the destruction is gradual, with well defined scaling laws for the various classical and quantum parameters, in sharp contrast with predictions based on the analogy with Anderson localization.Comment: 3 pages, revtex

    Data Fusion of Left Ventricle Electro-Anatomic Mapping and Multislice Computerized Tomography for Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy Optimization

    Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy is a treatment for bi-ventricular asynchronism. It can be optimized by the identification of the most effective pacing sites. The aim of this study is to provide a helpful tool to perform this identification by the fusion of electrical and anatomical information resulting from Electro-Anatomic Mapping (EAM) data and Multislice Computerized Tomography (MSCT) imaging. EAM data provide an approximation of the left ventricle (LV) 3D-surface (SEAM). Left cardiac chambers are segmented from MSCT imaging and surfaces are reconstructed (SCT). In order to represent this information in a unified framework, a three steps method is proposed: (1) the LV is separated from the left auricle on SCT providing S β€² CT; (2) a semi-automatic rigid registration method; (3) activation time delays is applied to SEAM and S β€² CT are estimated on S β€² CT from the EAM data. This method results in a graphical interface offering to clinicians means to identify abnormal electrical activity sites

    New process for the production of permeate powders without spray dryer

    An innovative process scheme for the production of dairy permeate powders was tested at the pilot scale. It includes: (i) overconcentration of the permeate concentrate from 60 to 80% w/w dry matter (DM) content; (ii) granulation of the overconcentrate with powder up to 88% DM; and (iii) drying of the granules up to 97% DM.The quality of the resulting powder was comparable to a standard powder produced using conventional technologies. Furthermore, considering energy required for water removal, the new process led to significant savings: they were estimated in the range of 10.7 to 23.5% and up to 32% when taking into account the whole production process or the drying step alone, respectively
